50 Cent Challenges Lil Wayne's Album Success
Written by Cyrus Langhorne

50 Cent recently made a case for his inevitable return to chart dominance, citing Jay-Z's track record in an effort to explain why consistency is more important than short-term successes.
Fif also placed himself behind Eminem as one of the top artists in the rap.
"Well Em, I don't even see Em in a category," Fif explained in an interview. "Then Em's number one and I'm number two. What does it mean that you sold [a million albums?] So you gonna forget I sold ten million records twice? 12 million first, ten million next, so what does that one million mean? What you're talking about is who has a buzz. A buzz is a song, so the next song I release you feel could turn me into the hottest thing out here. If I'm showing you full capability, what makes you doubt that? There's a cloud, there's a respect that is well deserved on Jay-Z's part because he's had that cloud come over him and constantly work through it. Having so many projects come out and being successful and maintain being here, there's a significance in that. Because [the public goes] after countless hit records, they say, 'Think you can do it again?' Ask me if you think he can do it again, h*ll yeah. 'Cause he did it how many times in front of us?" (XXL Mag)
50 recently spoke on his lack of motivation in today's hip-hop climate.
"What I fell in love with and inspired me to get into hip-hop is dwindling away," he explained in an interview. "I'd like to be a representation of that, because there isn't much of that left. I think people are so conscious of the numbers they're not being creative anymore." (Billboard)
While not directly calling out Weezy in his new War Angel mixtape, G-Unit associate DJ Whoo Kid said the project takes aim at a specific rap target.
"Somebody's always gotta be buried," Whoo Kid told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom referring to the mixtape's 'Prepare For Total Destruction' cover warning. "I'm just gonna let everybody get ready. What you do is figure out who's still relevant, who's still rapping...It's definitely not Eminem, but have your fans call up and think who we should bury. It's kinda obvious. The fans know. Don't spoil it for all the people out there, I mean, but you know Lil Wayne always cops a plea. He has his daddy, always calls up and talks for him states that Lil Wayne doesn't have time for beef he's more worried about money and pills and rock music. He's not really worried about beef and stuff like that. And the chick that handles his weave, you know, he's worried about his hair right now. Shout-out to the police officer, Rick Ross." (Jenny Boom Boom TV)
Aside from possible rap beefs, Fif recently took notice of rap newcomer Drake.
"[Lil Wayne] has that new kid, what's his name, Drake," Fif said in an interview. "The kid is coming up. I heard Jay-Z got him on his single. Right? That was ill, like, that was fast! For him to put him on his single, like that's ill. I don't know if he's rhyming or singing but the fact that he's on it is hot. Like that was a fast come-up. Jay won't even rap on his own artists and be in the video with 'em. Freeway, he did Freeway dirty. In the Freeway project, we were doing something together. It was all of us together, Jay had a record with Freeway and I said 'If you shoot that one, I'll shoot the one that I did with him and we'll make the video.' Now tell me that ain't the perfect scenario for Freeway." (Hot 97)

Wayne's Rebirth is gonna sell like hotcakes, even if people hate his rock genre music. It's the name that sells, not the product.
