The Clipse's "Casket" Still Open, New Album Misses Summer Release

Rap duo The Clipse's forthcoming Till The Casket Drops album will miss its anticipated summer release and land in stores this fall.

Pusha T said the album will drop later this year and also spoke on his experiences working with The Neptunes for their latest project.

"Third album by The Clipse is entitled Till The Casket Drops," Pusha T said in an interview. "It's coming out late September, as far as production on it, a majority of it is by The Neptunes...Till The Casket Drops is just what we say down in Virginia. It's usually in relation to saying you saying you not gonna stop, the hustle ain't gonna stop...Somedays [working with the Neptunes] is a tug-of-war. Somedays it's as simple as walking in the studio and hearing something crazy coming out the speakers. Other days you go back and forth and you fight over what you think is it and what you think is not. Everything is always good with the Neptunes, it's always something good. It's just a thing about can it be better." (Rap-Up)

Pusha recently announced various artists attached to the album.

"I mean production by the Neptunes, features from Keri Hilson, Kanye West, Cam'ron, Pharrell," Pusha said in an interview last month. "We just put together an amazing album and I'm really happy about that." Other names attached to the album include Timbaland, Scott Storch, P. Diddy and Danjahandz. (Much Music)

He also said the final product would be his and Malice's "best" work to date.

"We working on the new album right now, Clipse classic," Pusha T said in an interview earlier this year. "By far it's going to be the best Clipse album yet...As of right now we're working with a whole multitude of producers right now, we ain't got all the features in place yet but we got Sean C & LV, we got The Neptunes of course, we get Shawty Redd. We got The Justice League, we got DJ Khalil." (Straight Spittas DVD)

Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin also stepped up to help produce tracks on the album.

Legendary producer Rick Rubin has been working on tracks for the Clipse's long-awaited third album this month, the rap duo's camp tells EW. Rubin, who signed the Clipse to Columbia Records shortly after taking over as the label's co-chairman in 2007, has completed one tune with them so far in a Malibu studio; they plan to work with him on one to two more in the coming weeks.
